Chardonnay, the Original White Russian
The Russian River Valley in Sonoma, known for highly acclaimed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, is named after the Russians who emigrated from Alaska and settled the area. Winegrowing began with the first vineyards they planted, as early as 1817.
