Napa Valley is home to 17 American Viticultural Areas, or AVAs. Those which are referred to as the “valley floor appellations” are known for top quality Cabernet Sauvignon. The valley floor appellations include Calistoga AVA, St. Helena AVA, Rutherford AVA, Oakville AVA, Yountville AVA, Stags Leap District AVA, and Chiles Valley AVA.
