Where Does Cork Come From?
A cork oak tree needs to grow for 15 years before its bark can be harvested to make wine corks the first time. After that, the bark can be removed every nine or ten years. Cork trees will regrow their bark for multiple harvests, and many live up to 150 to 200 years old.
